We were in Penang in 2004, and loved the architecture of the town. I bet it has changed a lot in 5 years as everything in Asia changes so quickly. I recently watched a 3 part series of Malaysia on the BBC and they talked about how they are letting buildings decay on purpose so that they can put up new modern structures. What a shame.
We spent 6 weeks in total in Malaysia and loved it. Found it to be the most surprising destination of our SE Asia Travels.
